A Sneak Peek In The Life Of The Legend Mike Tyson

Mike Tyson was born on June 30, 1966, in Brooklyn, New York City. He had a difficult childhood and was frequently involved in street fights. When he was 13 years old, Tyson was sent to the Tryon School for Boys, a juvenile detention center, where he discovered boxing and began training with Bobby Stewart.

In 1980, Tyson began his amateur boxing career and quickly gained a reputation for his knockout power. He won his first 15 fights by knockout and was selected to represent the United States in the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. However, he was eliminated in the quarterfinals after losing to Henry Tillman.

After the Olympics, Tyson turned professional and signed with promoter Don King. He quickly rose through the ranks of the heavyweight division, winning his first 19 fights by knockout.

In 1986, he became the youngest heavyweight champion in history when he defeated Trevor Berbick to win the WBC title at the age of 20.

Over the next few years, Tyson dominated the heavyweight division, winning all of his fights by knockout. He became one of the most recognizable athletes in the world and was known for his ferocious punching power and intimidating demeanor in the ring.

However, Tyson's career was derailed by personal and legal issues. He was involved in a highly publicized divorce from actress Robin Givens, was convicted of rape in 1992 and served three years in prison. After his release, Tyson continued to box but was never able to recapture his earlier success.

Despite the setbacks, Tyson remains one of the most legendary boxers of all time. His early career was marked by an unprecedented level of dominance and his ferocious fighting style earned him the nickname "Iron Mike." Even in retirement, Tyson has remained a popular figure and has continued to be involved in boxing through his promotion company, Tyson Promotions
